Funding
The minimum grant amount is 400,000 euros. Funding is provided in accordance with the ‘Guidelines on funding projects promoting democratic participation and combating extremism in rural or structurally disadvantaged regions’. Project start date: 1 April 2027. Maximum project duration: 31 December 2028.
Access to rural and/or structurally disadvantaged areas: a prerequisite
Eligible applicants are local or regional associations, initiatives and local authorities with legal capacity that are non-profit organisations. Also eligible are non-profit organisations with legal capacity that operate on a supra-regional basis, such as educational institutions operating nationwide, state-wide umbrella organisations, or state and regional associations.
The organising bodies, as well as any potential final beneficiaries and cooperation partners involved in the project, must be committed to the free democratic basic order and must ensure that their work promotes the objectives of the Basic Law.
We are particularly seeking experienced organisations that have professional structures and sufficient expertise in implementing projects relating to political education and the strengthening of social cohesion, as well as direct access to local structures in rural and/or structurally disadvantaged areas.
