Promoting women in voluntary work

The Ministry for Family, Women, Culture and Integration provides grants for initiatives aimed at improving the conditions for women in voluntary work and supports training which, on the one hand, is useful for voluntary work and, on the other, can also improve women’s employment prospects. A 10 per cent contribution from the applicant is required. Applications must be submitted before the project begins.

Scope of funding

1.1. Events, conferences, seminars, training sessions and workshops on:

  • improving the framework conditions for voluntary work – particularly with regard to balancing work, family and voluntary work,
  • Skills development – both for taking on and carrying out voluntary work, as well as with a view to prospects for paid employment,
  • Coordination of paid and voluntary work,
  • Simplifying organisational and administrative processes in the voluntary sector,
  • Tax, liability and insurance regulations,
  • Women’s participation in voluntary governing bodies,
  • Political participation,
  • Sponsorship,
  • Gender mainstreaming and volunteering
  • as well as training in practical skills (e.g. public speaking, event organisation, public relations).

1.1.1. The following are eligible for funding:

  • Speaker’s fees of up to €600.00 (including VAT) per day, plus travel expenses in accordance with the State Travel Expenses Act (€0.25 per kilometre driven for private cars), as well as the speaker’s accommodation and meals,
  • Venue hire,
  • technical costs,
  • childcare,
  • Costs for event publicity such as invitations, posters, newspaper advertisements, etc.
  • For events lasting several days where participants travel to the venue and stay overnight, €5.11 per person per day may be recognised as eligible costs (depending on the amount of any costs to be borne by the participants).

1.2. Information materials

  • such as brochures, leaflets and posters.

1.2.1. Design, printing and material costs are eligible for funding; recurring publications or those produced by the association itself are excluded.
