Project funding from the Ludwigshafen Community Foundation

Upon application, the Ludwigshafen Community Foundation provides funding for projects run by independent and public organisations that are in line with the Foundation’s statutory objectives. Particular attention is paid to the needs of young people.
What is funded?
The Ludwigshafen Community Foundation aims to strengthen Ludwigshafen’s long-term viability through increased civic engagement. The Foundation seeks to encourage citizens and institutions to feel a greater sense of responsibility for shaping the future of the city of Ludwigshafen and to play an active role in doing so. The BürgerStiftung carries out both operational and funding activities. Applications for funding must meet the eligibility criteria set out below. The BürgerStiftung’s board of directors decides on incoming funding applications at least four times a year.
Funding is provided for projects in the areas of
- Youth and elderly care
- Art & culture
- Education, adult and vocational training
- Charitable work
- Support for organisations that promote charitable causes
- Science and Research
Individuals may submit projects for funding, but must have a sponsoring organisation to carry them out.
What is not funded?
- Projects that do not align with the statutory objectives of the BürgerStiftung
- commercially oriented projects
- projects that have already been completed
- Projects with no connection to Ludwigshafen
- Projects with a party-political or religious focus
- Funding for permanent employment contracts
- construction investments
The Foundation attaches particular importance to
- Sustainability: Not a one-off event; feasible without subsequent financial support. Potential for replication as a model. Empowering project participants to become active contributors.
- Novelty: A first-of-its-kind initiative or an innovative approach.
- Proximity to the target group: Existing contacts. Good networking. Existing cooperation partners.
- Experience: The applicant has experience in implementing similar projects.
Applications may be submitted on an ongoing basis. The application form and a financial plan must be submitted.
