A new generation takes over at the club
Organisational development, Executive Board
Thursday 16 July 2026, 5.30 pm – 8.30 pm at the Abendakademie Mannheim. Organised by the Department of Democracy and Strategy of the City of Mannheim. Clubs from Ludwigshafen pay the preferential rate of 30 euros instead of 60 euros.
Shaping change, safeguarding knowledge, strengthening the future
Many clubs face the challenge of successfully managing generational change: integrating the next generation, gradually handing over responsibility and, at the same time, preserving traditions – all of which requires good timing, clear communication and a well-thought-out process.
This seminar explores how to achieve a successful transition between experienced and new members within the club. It demonstrates practical ways in which knowledge can be effectively passed on, young people can be motivated and involved, and modern approaches to club and committee work can be introduced without losing sight of tried-and-tested methods.
Together, we will develop strategies for open, respectful communication between the generations, discuss potential pitfalls and success factors, and demonstrate how clubs can actively shape this change – to create a vibrant, sustainable club structure.
