The Audi Foundation for the Environment GmbH promotes the development of environmentally friendly technologies, the protection of the natural environment on which humans, animals and plants depend, and supports measures and activities aimed at environmental education. Applications may be submitted at any time of year and do not need to follow a specific format.

Funding is primarily provided for projects that

  • use innovative technologies to address socio-ecological challenges and thereby aim to bring about a sustainable improvement in our ecological environment,
  • do not focus solely on nature or the environment, but contribute to a sustainable human-environment system,
  • link environmental aspects with educational concerns,
  • serve as a model project and set an example for other institutions,
  • further develop nature conservation and environmental protection by translating research into practical action.

Projects submitted by applicants
relating to the following will not be funded:

  • Events (workshops, conferences, etc.)
  • Image campaigns, advertising and public relations
  • Undergraduate, master’s and doctoral theses

Proof must be provided that the applicant and the proposed projects are non-profit.
