The RWE Foundation supports projects in the field of child and youth welfare
Funding, Funding schemes, Financing, Youth, Children, Equal opportunities
The focus is on supporting children and young people, with an emphasis on promoting equal opportunities, overcoming social disadvantage, strengthening international and intercultural understanding, and improving social cohesion. Funding is available for projects with a minimum budget of €20,000.00.
From the RWE Foundation’s funding principles
The funding guidelines set out the framework conditions for selecting projects eligible for funding, essentially as follows:
- Funded projects must be in line with one of the RWE Foundation’s statutory purposes.
- Funding is only provided for projects involving non-profit or charitable organisations as defined in the section on ‘Tax-privileged purposes’ of the German Tax Code (Sections 51 et seq. AO).
- The project must be based on a long-term concept. Where possible, the RWE Foundation should not provide full funding alone; contributions from the project partner need not be solely in the form of money.
- The funding period is limited to a maximum of three years.
- Where possible, funded projects should be initiatives with a multiplier effect.
- Funded projects should be scalable and sustainable for the target group. Furthermore, grants exceeding €50,000.00 should be systematically embedded (involving public sector stakeholders).
- The aim is to focus on projects that are as pioneering, exemplary and sustainable as possible.
- Projects in Europe are eligible for funding.
- Our funding programme starts with grants of €20,000.00 or more.
- Grants exceeding €50,000.00 require the approval of the Advisory Board. The next Advisory Board meeting is scheduled for November 2026.
