The 2026 Innovatio Social Award recognises social projects that strengthen social cohesion, promote intergenerational harmony or champion socially just climate action. The award is open exclusively to projects run by faith-based organisations. We are looking for creative and forward-thinking approaches that break new ground and are already being put into practice.

Four prizes with a total value of 15,000 euros
The Innovatio Social Award is organised jointly by the Versicherer im Raum der Kirchen (VRK), the German Caritas Association and Diakonie Deutschland.
Social projects run by religious organisations are eligible to apply, provided that their planning phase has been completed and they are already being implemented. A total of 15,000 euros in prize money will be awarded. In addition to the main prize, further projects will be recognised for particularly creative, easily replicable or forward-looking ideas. The closing date for applications is 30 September 2026, and the award ceremony will take place on 3 December 2026 in Berlin.
