Neighbourly help and online meet-ups
Encounter, Age, Digitalisation
The state coordination centre “Living Well in Old Age” provides support to neighbourhood assistance schemes, community associations and social cooperatives for mutual aid during their start-up phase. Within this framework, start-up funding is available to cover the costs of initial equipment, public relations and events, as well as consultancy fees, in the form of a one-off grant of up to €5,000.
Funding opportunities
The State Co-ordination Centre provides funding for computer and internet clubs for older people in the form of a one-off grant covering up to half of the costs, up to a maximum of €3,500. The computer and internet club does not have to be used exclusively by older people. We very much welcome intergenerational internet clubs or joint internet projects involving younger people, such as school pupils, and older people. However, the club must be available for the exclusive use of older people for at least two hours on at least one or two days a week.
The Co-ordination Centre also supports nationwide projects that develop new approaches to engagement and participation among older people. Please enquire with the State Co-ordination Centre at an early stage regarding this.
You can request the application documents for funding a model project and initiatives benefiting the older generation, as well as the relevant legal basis, from the Co-ordination Centre by email. Using these forms, you can apply for model projects, neighbourhood support schemes and internet meet-ups. For all grants, a contribution from the applicant and/or other income and/or contributions in kind are generally required.
