Through its ‘Go International’ funding scheme, the Youth Sports Division of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Sports Federation supports international youth exchanges organised by sports clubs and associations. Projects that facilitate intercultural learning and broaden the personal horizons of young sportspeople are funded with up to 1,000 euros. The key criterion is that the exchange between the participating groups is organised on a partnership basis.
Sport provides an accessible and engaging way to foster cross-border understanding and overcome language barriers. Funding is provided in accordance with the Ministry of the Interior and Sport of Rhineland-Palatinate’s guidelines on sports funding.
Duration of the event
: At least one overnight stay and two days of activities
Target group
: Children and young people aged between 6 and 26 (excluding accompanying adults), regardless of origin, gender, social status, religion or physical/mental disability
Group
composition: At least 5 children and young people per country must take part in the exchange
Nature
of the exchange: Projects must be carried out in collaboration with a partner club or association; no funding is available for purely competitive events, tournaments or sightseeing tours
Funding amount
– Max. €500 flat-rate grant for free accommodation
– Max. €1,000 flat-rate grant for paid accommodation

: Active involvement of children and young people in planning, implementation and evaluation

: Promotion of intercultural and linguistic skills
