Commitment
SWR, in partnership with the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, honours people for their exceptional commitment. Throughout the year, they showcase volunteers, reporting on their outstanding achievements, their unpaid work and the people they help.
The highlight of the campaign is an awards ceremony broadcast on SWR television, during which volunteering awards are presented to outstanding individuals and their projects. Get your applications in!
What’s it all about?
The “Ehrensache” initiative publicly expresses its gratitude to the more than 1.5 million people in Rhineland-Palatinate who, year after year, volunteer their time free of charge in their spare time. Whether in a club, an initiative or a group, these people take action, stand up for others or support a cause. They work for the common good every day, often behind the scenes. Whether in the social or cultural sphere, in sport, or for nature and the environment: the range of their exemplary and long-term commitment is vast.
