SWR supports projects for children and young people

Funding schemes, Youth, Children

SWR awards grants for children’s and youth projects based on criteria such as topicality, diversity of themes and a fair regional distribution. Funding is available in the form of emergency aid, multi-year support or grants for the one-off purchase of vehicles to reach children and young people in rural areas.

How does it work?

Twice a year (in April and August), SWR decides on the allocation of funding based on criteria such as topicality, diversity of topics and fair regional distribution. As demand is very high, we recommend that you apply as early as possible. This gives the jury sufficient time to review your project application and ask any follow-up questions if necessary. Consequently, your project can start in May or September at the earliest. Here is an overview of the funding options:

Emergency aid

‘Herzenssache’ provides rapid, unbureaucratic support to meet urgent needs. This could be for essential refurbishment work to provide children and young people with space, important purchases, holiday programmes or temporary support schemes.

Multi-year support

Herzenssache supports your project with funding for three years – whatever is needed: staff or consultancy fees, building costs, fitting out new premises or material costs. Apply now with your proposal!

Mobility

Do you need a vehicle to make your project mobile? Whether it’s to reach children and young people in rural areas, visit disadvantaged neighbourhoods or get a creative project off the ground – Herzenssache makes it possible.
