Bewegungsstiftung – Inspiration for social movements

The Bewegungsstiftung gives priority to supporting campaigns, initiatives and organisations that, due to the nature of their objectives or working methods, do not receive funding from other foundations – for example, where the issues they address are highly controversial in society.

Four funding schemes

The Bewegungsstiftung currently runs four different funding programmes:

1. Start-up grants of between 3,000 and 10,000 euros. Deadline: the first Tuesday in April
2. Campaign funding of between 3,000 and 10,000 euros. Deadline: the first Tuesday in April
3. Core funding (long-term support for organisations) of between 30,000 and 100,000 euros over 2–3 years. Deadline: the first Tuesday in September
4. Movement-building work through project guidance and support via a donation model – currently no places available.
