Inclusion, Youth
The “Empowering Young People” project funding scheme run by Aktion Mensch supports inclusive and participatory leisure activities that boost young people’s self-efficacy and enable them to contribute their own ideas and play an active role in shaping these activities. Grants of up to €300,000 and a project duration of up to 48 months.
Next application period: 1 September – 15 October 2026
Empowerment and self-determination
The funding is aimed at organisations and initiatives wishing to run leisure activities for young people aged between 12 and 24. Support is provided for projects that break down barriers, enable participation and strengthen diverse communities. The funding can be used to cover, amongst other things, staff costs, fees and material costs, as well as measures to improve accessibility.
You can carry out the funding check here to assess your eligibility. This involves, amongst other things, determining whether you are a non-profit organisation or whether you are subject to a prohibition on self-contracting under Section 181 of the German Civil Code (BGB).
You can then submit your application via the Aktion Mensch online portal by 15 October 2026.
