Your commitment with that wow factor
No time or money for public relations? No problem! Together with WOW Magazine Ludwigshafen, we’ve given some of you the chance to tell your stories. Andy Heinrich and Murat Bilir visited the Wald- und Wiesenfreunde Maudach e.V., TSV Ludwigshafen and the neighbourhood parents’ group, and saw for themselves what makes your commitment so special. You can find the stories, photos and short videos in WOW Magazine Ludwigshafen and on the Instagram channels of WOW Magazine Ludwigshafen and LUnited.
Your commitment with that wow factor
Integration with a heart
‘Neighbourhood Parents for Neighbourhood Families’ is a project run by Diakonie Pfalz that supports newly arrived families in Ludwigshafen with practical, warm-hearted help with everyday life – from dealing with the authorities and doctor’s appointments to school paperwork, as well as emotional support and homework help. As part of our campaign “Your Commitment with the WOW Factor”, Andy Heinrich and Murat Bilir from WOW magazine visited Ece Spang and her colleague and neighbourhood mum, Islam Mohammed Ali, and learnt about the work of the 26 volunteer neighbourhood mums and dads.
Top-class sport in a family-friendly atmosphere
TSV Ludwigshafen is a small, very close-knit multi-sport club in which a truly niche sport has played a leading role for decades: Prellball. What may sound like a niche sport is, here, competitive sport at the very highest level. With several German championship titles to its name, both at senior level and in the Bundesliga – the club’s impressive sporting consistency makes it a fixture on the German Prellball scene. At the same time, TSV is a key pillar of children’s and youth sport in Ludwigshafen-Nord – though, like many clubs, it struggles less to attract talent than to secure voluntary support. As part of our “Your Commitment with the WOW Factor” campaign, Andy Heinrich and Murat Bilir visited the Ludwigshafen Prellball players during their training session at the Goethe-Schule Nord, played along, listened – and got to know a club that is far more than just its sporting successes.
The Makers from Maudach
The Wald- und Wiesenfreunde e.V. association is a Maudach-based all-round initiative that deliberately refuses to be pigeonholed, and it is precisely this that is its particular strength. What began as a spontaneous idea has grown into a vibrant network that demonstrates what is possible when people say ‘let’s do it now’ rather than ‘we really ought to’. As the first project as part of our ‘Your Commitment with the WOW Factor’ campaign, Andy Heinrich and Murat Bilir visited the Wald- und Wiesenfreunde e.V. at the 12th Maudach Winter Magic. On Sunday 7 December 2025, they met there with Oliver Mark, the association’s chairman, to find out more about the Winterzauber, how it came about and the people behind the idea.
LUnited and WOW raise the profile of social engagement
Ludwigshafen is a city with character. If you look more closely, you’ll find it everywhere: in clubs, initiatives, cultural projects, neighbourhood groups, educational programmes and social services. Many people here are committed to the common good as a matter of course – often on a voluntary basis, frequently behind the scenes and not infrequently without much public attention. This is precisely where the collaboration between WOW Magazine and LUnited comes in. We are united by the conviction that such commitment deserves to be recognised.
LUnited sees itself as an engagement agency for Ludwigshafen – and thus the central point of contact for everything that drives clubs and civic engagement in the city. Its aim is clear: to strengthen clubs and charitable organisations in Ludwigshafen.
